RACHAEL TURNER THERAPY INTERNATIONAL
Your Well-Being Is in Good Hands
I am an International, UKRCP Registered and Accredited Independent Psychotherapist (BACP) and EMDR Practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with over 25 years of experience. I work with children, young people, adults, couples, and families, offering support that is always tailored to individual needs. I hold personal liability insurance, have enhanced DBS clearance, and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ensuring that client data and confidentiality are handled securely and in line with UK data protection regulations.
I provide a range of evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, EMDR, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), and Person-Centred Counselling. My areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, emotional regulation, and sexualised behaviours (both harmful and non-harmful).
Alongside my private practice — which also welcomes international clients — I am a service provider for Social Services, Post Adoption support, Residential Care Homes, and LCC Schools.

MY PRACTICE AND QUALIFICATIONS
It's all about the therapeutic relationship

Welcome
Thank you for visiting my website. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but it’s also a brave and important decision. My role is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore whatever has brought you here and begin to move forward. With over 25 years of experience, I draw on a range of approaches to create therapy that is tailored to you and your needs.
About me
I have been practising as a Psychotherapist since 2000 and am a fully qualified EMDR Practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), using this therapy for the past 10 years. I am also trained in LMV (Life Minus Violence), a cognitive behavioural therapeutic programme designed to reduce aggression within forensic populations.
I work with children, young people, adults, couples, and families. My approach is always shaped by the reason for referral, and every session is tailored to the individual. I offer both face-to-face appointments and remote sessions, making therapy accessible wherever you are. EMDR is highly effective when delivered online as well as in person.

MY SERVICES
With You Every Step of the Way

PSYCHOTHERAPY
If you’re looking for high-quality individual therapy with a skilled and experienced Psychotherapist who genuinely cares, you’ve come to the right place.
People seek therapy for many different reasons, and every journey is unique. While I am fundamentally a Psychodynamic Counsellor, I take an eclectic, tailored approach, adapting each session to your individual needs. Together, we can explore your reasons for seeking support, starting from the very first appointment.
I also offer Couples Counselling. I am an advocate for relationships and support couples who want to strengthen their connection. Even when it feels like communication has broken down or hope is lost, there is always a way forward. I provide a non-judgemental, unbiased space to explore your relationship and work through areas of difficulty. Often, it’s about communication — and my therapy provides a safe space to do just that.
EMDR (EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING).
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-focused therapy recommended by the NHS (NICE Guidelines). It is a relatively quick, yet extremely effective approach that helps people reprocess difficult experiences.
While EMDR is most commonly used to treat PTSD and Complex PTSD, it is also highly effective for phobias, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
Experienced practitioners can even use EMDR to enhance performance in areas such as sports, career, or other personal goals, helping clients build confidence and achieve their potential.
I offer EMDR for all of these purposes and tailor the therapy to suit the individual needs of each client, whilst adhering to the strict protocol.
